Shi Lei
hi Lei (1961 Shandong) is known for his dramatic, almost religiously inspired portraits of life, kings, dancers and the common man. He explores the human body, the child and the mother. His images seem apolitical, more an exploration of life, the dance of man and woman, and the birth and even death of children. He is a graduate of the Hubei Fine Arts Academy and lives and works in Guangzhou.
