The Long March Project is back on the road from May 2nd to September 30th 2006. The Long March team will travel to the northwestern Chinese city of Yan’an with ten leading artists including Cai Guo-Qiang, Sui Jianguo, Qiu Zhijie as well as curators and scholars, creating projects, dialogue and communication with the local community.

Zhao Bandi held an International Panda Party on May Holiday at his panda office in 798 art district. This party was held to find people who looked like the panda bear. Zhao wants to find six panda-like men to take to Taiwan later this year. Taiwan refused to accept a pair of real pandas offered by the Chinese government, so Zhao is going to offering real people. Zhao also held a similar gathering at Beijing University, and attracted lots of student attention.

Guangzhou's Fine Arts academy estimated that 30,000 students registered to take the school's entrance examination. Only 2000 were accepted, making the acceptance ratio 15:1.

In the 51st Venice Biennale exhibition 2005, China created an exhibition called Virgin Garden ---Immersion. The major curator of the exhibit, Cai Guoqiang, and all the committee members were born in 1950s, except Pi Li. On the other hand, all of represented artists such as Xu Zhen and Sun Yuan were selected from 1970s generation. So this exhibition could be called “ 50+70”.

290 sculpture works were selected by 2008 Olympic Landscape Sculpture Designs Contest. The pieces will be displayed at Wangfujing, Beijing. After that, the Organizing Committee will select 29 pieces (because it’s the 29th Olympic Games), which will be placed at Olympic Park, Beijing.
