 think that if painting is both a way of escape and a way of entrance, so why don’t I search for a “new” way of painting that is an escape from the real world and a way to enter the “contemporary”? This is the reason for this series of painting.
These are paintings on painting itself.
Ancient Chinese painters showed their opinions and methods of expression through their artworks; what I have done is to use these material to re-view and re-express, using them to convey my fascination with the artistic language itself as well as my pursuit of artistic meaning. Using methods of handicraft and visuality to re-invent these materials that have been viewed and expressed in the past, I hope to produce something that wanders between “image creation” and “conceptual creation”.
It seems I did something, but I also feel that I have done nothing.
